Tour Plan

Day 01 Arrival in Bergen, the Gateway to the Fjords
  • Arrival in Bergen according to your own itinerary.
  • Recommended attractions:
    • Bryggen Wharf
    • Fløibanen funicular
    • Edvard Grieg’s home Troldhaugen
    • The Fish market
  • Accommodation in Bergen.

Arrival in Bergen according to your own itinerary. Bergen is Norway’s second largest city, but has the charm and atmosphere of a smaller town. While in Bergen we recommend taking a stroll along Bryggen Wharf and the Fish Market, followed by a trip with the funicular to Mount Fløyen from where you will have a spectacular view of the city. Accommodation in Bergen.

Add extra nights in Bergen - From EUR 83 per person per night

Day 02 Winter Fjord Cruise and overnight in Flåm
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Bergen Railway from Bergen to Voss.
  • Bus from Voss to Gudvangen.
  • 2-hour fjord cruise on the Nærøyfjord.
  • Accommodation in Flåm.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by train from Bergen to Voss, before continuing by bus to Gudvangen. A 2-hour fjord cruise will bring you along the Nærøyfjord to Flåm. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord channel in Europe, and has recently been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. During the winter the boat sometimes has to break its way through the ice; the cracking of the ice makes this an even more magical experience. At 2 pm you will arrive in the small fjord village of Flåm, where you will spend the night so that you can experience the Flåm Railway in day-light the next day. There are not many people in Flåm during the winter; a striking contrast to the more busy summer season. We recommend going for a walk and to enjoy the tranquillity that Flåm has to offer during winter. Accommodation in Flåm.

Add extra nights in Flåm - From EUR 195 per person per night

Day 03 Flåm- & Bergen Railway to Oslo
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Flåm Railway from Flåm to Myrdal.
  • Bergen Railway from Myrdal to Oslo.
  • Recommended attractions:
    • Vigeland Sculpture Park
    • National Museum
    • Oslo Opera House
    • Kon-tiki Museum
    • Munch Museum
  • Accommodation in Oslo.

Breakfast at the hotel. Just before noon your Norwegian winter adventure continues on board the Flåm Railway, which passes through wild and beautiful mountain scenery with frozen waterfalls and steep mountain sides from the Sognefjord reaching up to a height of about 900 metres. There is no other adhesion railway in the world running on normal tracks that is so steep over a long distance. From Myrdal your journey continues on board the Bergen Railway, taking you across the Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau, with Finse as the highest train station at 1222 meters above sea level. After a 5 hour train journey you will arrive in Norway’s capital Oslo. The city is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Accommodation in Oslo.

Add extra nights in Oslo - From EUR 78 per person per night

Day 04 Northern Lights City of Tromsø (flight not included)

The arctic city of Tromsø is the world’s most Northern university town and the largest city in the Nordic countries north of the Arctic Circle. The city lies between the sharp craggy peaks of the Lyngen Alps, and combines wild scenery with urban life. Sights of interest in Tromsø include the Arctic Cathedral, Polaria, the Polar Museum and the Mack brewery. Tromsø is also the perfect starting point for Northern Lights excursions and exotic winter activities (please see experiences below for further details). Accommodation in Tromsø.

Day 05 Optional Winter Activities and Northern Lights Experiences
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Day at leisure in Tromsø.

Breakfast at the hotel. This day is at your own leisure. We recommend adding one or more of the many optional winter activities (most available from November 15 or December 1), including dog sledding, Northern Lights observations and snowmobile safaris. Due to the city’s location right in the middle of the planet’s Northern Light’s belt, Tromsø and its surroundings offer excellent chances of spotting the Northern Lights. Accommodation in Tromsø.

Add extra nights in Tromsø - From EUR 73 per person per night

Day 06 Departure from Tromsø

  • Departure from Tromsø according to your own itinerary.
