Arrival in Kirkenes according to your own itinerary. Kirkenes is located in Finnmark, Norway’s most northern county, and shares border with both Russia and Finland. Kirkenes means “church on a headland” in Norwegian and the town sits between two ice-filled fjords, leading to the Barents Sea. Kirkenes is also the last stop for Hurtigrutens' northbound cruises. Here you have an abundance of winter activities to choose from such as dog sledding, snowmobile safaris and king crab safaris. In the evening we recommend visiting the Snowhotel for dinner (already included in category GOLD).

Category GOLD also includes transfer from the airport, city centre or Hurtigruten pier to the Gamme cabins located by the Snowhotel, and dinner.
Breakfast at the hotel. Around noon you will be picked up from your hotel and travel by minibus or bus from Norway to Finland. You will travel through beautiful arctic nature with a wonderful diverse backdrop of mountains, small lakes and the taiga forest. The transfer takes approximately 5-6 hours and in the late afternoon you will arrive at Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä. The small resort lies in the middle of magnificent fell scenery by Urho Kekkonen National Park - the largest national park in Finland. The Sami people have inhabited the region for over a century, and the surrounding environment is one of the cleanest you will find anywhere in the world. Here, 250 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, you have excellent chances of observing the Northern Lights. Dinner and accommodation at Northern Lights Village.

Explore a variety of popular winter activities such as cross-country and downhill skiing, dog sled tours, reindeer safaris, snowmobile safaris, and snowshoeing. Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will travel by local bus from Saariselkä to Rovaniemi (choose from morning or noon departure). The comfortable bus takes about 3.5 hours and onboard you have access to free Wi-Fi and power sockets. Rovaniemi is located on the Arctic Circle and is home to 62,000 people, 14,000 reindeer and officially also Santa Claus. Here you can take the opportunity to visit the Santa Claus Village where you can meet Santa Claus in person every day of the year as well as crossing the Arctic Circle which runs right through the village. Rovaniemi is known as the capital of Finnish Lapland and a lively centre for winter activities. In the city centre you will find many shops, restaurants, spas and the museum Arktikum, which is a science centre and museum that lets you experience northern nature, culture, and history up close. Breakfast at the hotel. Today is at your own leisure to explore. In Rovaniemi there are plenty of winter activities to join - why not try one of the electric snowmobile or dog sledding safaris. Or perhaps extend your stay in Rovaniemi and add some extra nights and take advantage of some more exciting winter activities on offer at the Arctic Circle. You can also travel onwards to Helsinki by overnight train to visit the Finnish capital or travel by bus to Tromsø in northern Norway.
