Breakfast at the hotel. Over the following days you will participate in several exciting winter activities at the Wilderness Hotel Muotka which are included in your package. Your personalized activity schedule will outline which activities will take place on which days:

Reindeer Day with Snowmobile including outdoor lunch
Start your day with a combination of two activities: snowmobiling and a visit to the reindeer farm. After a full safety and driving lesson from your guide, you will ride your snowmobile across the arctic scenery, heading towards a reindeer farm where you will meet a reindeer herder and his herd. Enjoy a short trip in a sleigh pulled by reindeer, try your luck on how to lasso a reindeer and gain an insight into their lifestyle in the north and the importance of reindeer in Lapland. Soup will be served during the day.

Dog sledding 
Embark on an exciting husky safari, which is a “must-do” experience in Finnish Lapland! Your guide will teach you the necessary skills on how to handle your own sledge before heading out with your team of huskies through the arctic surroundings of Muotka. Two people are sharing one sledge, with the opportunity to swap places halfway. This excursion will truly be an everlasting memory.

Aurora Snowshoeing
When the night falls, it is time to hunt for the magical Northern Lights. Head out with your guide into the dark forests of Muotka on snowshoes. You will head towards the camp spot where an open fire will be waiting for you. Hot drinks are served to stay warm and comfortable while gazing at the night sky, with the hope of witnessing the show of the dancing Auroras.

Aurora Camp
During this Northern Lights excursion, you will be seated comfortably in a sledge pulled by your guide’s snowmobile. You will head towards a remote campsite, where an open fire in a cosy hut is waiting for you. While waiting for the Auroras to light up the night sky, enjoy your hot drinks to keep warm.

Dinner and accommodation at Wilderness Hotel Muotka.

• Departure from Ivalo is according to your own itinerary.

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the arctic morning before it is time for your departure. Activities may be scheduled for this day depending on your departure time, but please note that lunch is not included today. Airport transfer is included back to Ivalo Airport, however, should you wish to continue your travels we recommend combining this tour with one of our winter tours in Norway, starting from Kirkenes to where you can easily add a transfer from Wilderness Hotel Muotka. Or perhaps you wish to travel south to Rovaniemi - the capital of Finnish Lapland where you can join other winter tours.
