Visit Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland and stay in your choice of glass igloo at Apukka Resort. Search for the Northern Lights in comfort in the middle of the taiga forest. Visit Santa Claus and try the on-site ice sauna before speeding off into the wilderness on your dog sled adventure.

Arrival at Rovaniemi Airport according to your own itinerary followed by a 15-minute transfer to Apukka Resort where you will be staying for the next three nights. This is a rural hideaway located just outside Rovaniemi, nestled in between two lakes in unspoiled nature, making this a great place to search for the Northern Lights.
This day is at your own leisure to explore this beautiful area, why not try the ice sauna or say hello to the friendly huskies? Dinner for the following evenings are included at the on-site Restaurant Aitta and after tonight’s dinner your Northern Lights hunting adventure starts! The glass roof at your accommodation provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to look for the Northern Lights in the sky. The special thermal glass keeps the temperature inside your room warm and prevents the glass from frosting over, keeping the view clear even when the temperature outside drops to -30°C. - 2-hour dog sledding safari, 7-10 km distance. From November 10 to 30 a 1.5-hour early winter dog sledding safari is included, 3 km distance.

Breakfast at Restaurant Aitta. Today you will meet the friendly husky dogs at Apukka Resort and embark on a thrilling daytime adventure. Before your sled ride starts, you can cuddle the huskies, take photos and listen to your guide tell stories about the huskies and mushing. The highlight of the day is the 7-10 km safari, where you get to mush your very own team of huskies. Please note that for husky safaris between November 10 and 30, you will follow specially prepared snowy trails made using stored snow from the previous winter, covering a distance of approximately 3 km.
In the evening join one of the optional Northern Lights tours. Dinner and overnight at Apukka Resort.

Breakfast at Restaurant Aitta. Today you have the possibility to choose between several optional winter activities. The surroundings of Apukka Resort offer ideal possibilities for exploring the winter wonderland of Lapland. Choose between reindeer safaris, snowmobile safaris or take the opportunity to go and visit Santa Claus himself at Santa Claus Village. Dinner and overnight at Apukka Resort.

Breakfast at Restaurant Aitta. Make the most of your last day in the Arctic before your transfer back to Rovaniemi Airport. As an alternative we recommend extending your Arctic adventure by adding an overnight in Rovaniemi – for instance in an Ice Hotel Cabin at Apukka Resort –, continuing north to Kakslauttanen or Inari in Finnish Lapland or travelling to Tromsø in northern Norway.
