  Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring Stockholm, both by land and by sea. We recommend one of the optional sightseeing tours, i.e. the Stockholm Winter cruise where the guide on board the boat tells interesting facts and stories about Stockholm, or perhaps try your skills at long distance ice skating on the numerous large and small lakes of Lake Mälaren. In the evening you will depart by overnight train to Boden. Accommodation in a sleeping compartment onboard the train.

Morning arrival by train to Boden. From here you will be transferred for 30 minutes into the boreal forest of Swedish Lapland. The Treehotel is located in Harads, near the Lule river. The village has a population of about 600 people and it features a restaurant, shop and guest house. When you arrive at the Treehotel, you will check in at Britta’s Guest House. From here it is a short stroll through the beautiful nature to your tree room. The eco-friendly Treehotel consists of seven rooms, each designed by a different Swedish architect, nestled between 4 to 6 metres up in the pines. Here you can enjoy the quiet, timelessness and harmony that are found in the tree and the surroundings. You can also join one of the optional winter activities. Britta’s Guest House has an authentic 1930-50’s setting and offers a restaurant, bar, sauna, TV, and internet. Accommodation in a tree room (see hotel description for further details).

• Train from Boden to Abisko (arrival at approx. 4pm).

Breakfast at Britta’s Guest House followed by transfer to Boden for your onward 5,5-hour train journey to Abisko. In Abisko you will stay at Abisko Tourist Station, located only a few minutes’ walk from the chairlift going up to the Aurora Sky Station. Before travelling up to the station in the evening you will be provided with warm overalls and blankets. The mountain station is an excellent location to observe the Northern lights since there is no air pollution and the nearby lake Torne träsk, "the blue hole of Abisko” is said to keep the skies above the mountain station clear, even when fog covers other parts of Lapland. Upon arrival you will join a guided tour. At the Aurora Sky Station you will find a panorama café selling coffee, tea, cakes and sandwiches, a souvenir shop and look-out tower. There is also a Northern Lights exhibition, which emphasizes observing and understanding the Northern Lights. The observations are made with the help of both radio receivers and Northern Lights cameras. Please note that for guests booking category GOLD, a 3-course dinner is included at the restaurant. • Transfer from Kiruna train station to Jukkasjärvi Ice Hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. At noon you will travel by train from Abisko to Kiruna where a representative from the Ice hotel will assist you with further transfer to the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi. The Ice Hotel is Scandinavia's original, as well as largest ice hotel in the world. Each year the ice hotel is built from ice from the Torne River, and artists from all over the world gather in the small village of Jukkasjärvi to create the Ice Hotel and all its art made of snow and ice. The interior is always between -5°C to -8°C, even when it gets up to -37°C outside. The seasonal Ice Hotel opens each year in the middle of December while some building work will continue into early January where guests can watch the creation of this masterpiece.

This afternoon we recommend joining one of the optional winter activities or rent your own cross country skies or snowshoeing equipment and head off on your own. In the evening, guests can dine at the Ice Hotel Restaurant, or at the authentic and charming Old Homestead Restaurant. There are also several optional Northern Lights tours on offer in the evening. Accommodation at the Ice Hotel, in rooms furnished with furniture made from ice and snow. You will sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on comfortable reindeer skins in a special bed built of snow and ice (please see hotel description for further details about the Ice Hotel and dining options).

  In the morning you will wake up to a cup of hot lingonberry juice at your bedside. Take a walk to the sauna to warm up before breakfast is served at the restaurant. The morning is at your own leisure and we recommend joining one of the winter activities such as dog sledding, where you can experience driving your own team of huskies. Departure from Kiruna is according to your own itinerary, but you can also choose to stay one more night in warm accommodation at the Ice Hotel. Transfer to Kiruna airport or train station is included on your departure day.
